Optimising resources for crawling purposes is always a good idea, and Google has just announced that Starting November 2020, Googlebot will start crawling some sites over HTTP/2.
If your site supports only HTTP/1.1, you don’t need to make any changes just yet, as they will be trialling this on a number of sites which already support the new protocol.
This change will possibly benefit large websites where crawling hundreds and even thousands of pages will now require fewer server resources.
Should you prepare to migrate sooner than later?
